Most genres imaginable and every corner of the globe are represented in the artists recently named winners in the 2007 Independent Music Awards. Aside from the honor of being considered tops of all the world’s indie artists, winners receive year’s worth of marketing support from the Planetary Group and a featured spot in the 2007 edition of The Musicians Atlas, a guide to making it in the global indie music business.
Some of the honorees include Kristy Kruger, who won for best Americana album; Bitter:Sweet, winner in the Pop/rock album category; and The Guggenheim Grotto (pictured above), given the honor of Folk/singer-songwriter song of the year.
The winners were selected by a panel of celebrity and industry judges. Music fans from the general public were able to cast their votes in the IMA’s 2007 “Vox Populi” poll, the results of which will be announced January 17th, 2007.
