Paste editor talks philanthropic rock

| | Comments (0)

For this month’s appearance on Fox 25 in Boston, Paste editor-at-large Jay Sweet discussed the magazine’s big question this month: Can rock save the world?

Some musicians, Sweet said, feel a sense of duty to deliver social or political messages. He argued for their effectiveness, citing Nelson Mandela’s release from prison following a Free Mandela tribute concert.

Sweet also mentioned Boston band Guster’s efforts to educate other musicians about operating eco-consciously through its nonprofit Reverb.
