Description:
The day of his Paste studio performance, Jason Isbell arrived with his
band The 400 Unit looking gloomier than the gray February sky overhead.
He was in the midst of a nasty winter cold, but after a few minutes of
vocal warm-ups and a strong cup of tea, Isbell put on a performance that
would have been impressive on any day. Isbell's vivid song-writing
paired with the warm southern sounds of the band's performance of "The
Last Song I Will Write" made us glad that wasn't so.
