Description:As you might imagine, working at Paste Magazine means lots of really great and memorable moments. Some of my favorite memories while at Paste have been instances where while watching an up-and-coming bands I have thought “they’re going to be a really big deal some day.” But seeing Carney play an acoustic set here at the Paste Studio elicited a slightly different thought. While watching the Los Angeles-based band play a stripped-down acoustic set at the office, I thought “Why the hell aren’t these guys famous yet?” Luckily, it seems unlikely that I’ll be asking that question much longer. The band’s lead singer Reeve Carney will be playing Peter Parker/Spiderman in the highly anticipated Broadway musical, “Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark.”
And no matter what the revues of the show, the appeal of the classic rock-oriented band are sure to soon get the attention the band deserves. After I heard what the band did with a couple acoustic guitars and a tambourine on their song “Love Me Chase Me” I can’t help but hope there is an arena tour in this band’s not too distant future. — Kevin Keller
