Description:Damion Suomi (pronounced sue-me) isn’t trying to re-invent music—he just wants to make some really good songs. As far as we’re concerned, he’s doing just fine. His new self-titled album grabbed an 86 from Paste’s Gray Chapman, who noted that the “album runs the gamut from stark sincerity to rambunctious bourbon-swigging.” While playing at the Paste Studio, Damion made use of his wide vocal range (though he chose beer over bourbon to drink during the set). Like much of his Irish-influenced music, “Darwin, Jesus, The Devil And Me” seems equally appropriate for stomping and shouting, or for quietly singing along. Either way, we recommend you listen with your favorite drink in hand.
