Description:Matt Morris may seem like a new presence in pop music, but take away the beard and knock him down a few feet, and you might just recognize him from his days on the Mickey Mouse Club. After the show, Morris found his niche as a songwriter, penning songs for musicians including Kelly Clarkson and fellow former Mouseketeers Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake. More recently, Morris picked up an acoustic guitar and started playing songs for himself, wearing his pop background on his sleeve with his soulful delivery and tactful melisma. When he performed at Paste, he delivered stellar vocal runs despite the 10 AM showtime, introducing his song “Money” with the simple dedication: “Here’s to the bailout.”
