Description:Slow Runner began in 2003, when singer-songwriter Michael Flynn began working with multi-instrumental musician Josh Kaler. Much like the formation of a new star, the musical gravity of the Flynn-Kaler combination soon sucked in bass player Jonathan Gray (formerly of Jump Little Children) and guitarist Scott Baumil (Formerly of The Young Republicans.) The group’s unique sound which rests somewhere between “pop balladry” and “resolute anthemics,” made Slow Runner a Paste “Best of What’s Next” band this year. During their performance at Paste, the band played the song “Trying to Put Your Heart Back Together” which features the exquisite whistling of Jonathan Gray. The band is currently on tour with William Fitzsimmons.
