Description:What happens when you take three talented musicians from their homes in Australia and the UK, move them to Austin, Texas, and later Nashville, Tennesse and get them signed to Sugar Hill Records? If you’re really lucky, you get The Greencards.
The Greencards may play traditional bluegrass instruments, but many of their songs seem to stray far from American borders, incorporating sounds of Irish, Romanian, and Latin American music. During their live set at Paste, the band scattered throughout the Paste offices, warming up in different areas. By the time the returned to the studio to play, nearly every one of the Paste staff had already been impressed by at least one of the members’ instrumental skills. But after The Greencards played their first song “Fasicnation,” we were convinced that the band was far more than talented instrumentalists.
