New Dears Video - "Money Babies"

It's been a while since we've written about the Dears. The Montreal band's about to release their fourth full-length Missiles -- the first since 2006's Gang Of Losers -- but there are only two members left. Reportedly, creative differences got the best of the crew during the recording process, so we're left with vocalist/songwriter Murray Lightburn and keyboardist/backing vocalist Natalia Yanchak to pilot the ship. The apocalyptic Anton Josef-directed video for lead track "Money Babies" is fitting in that sense (i.e. the aftermath of the band's implosion), but the repetition of "our money is elastic," along with images of burning money, poverty, and general tension, fit more generally with the current economic crisis. One thing to note: Hipsters somehow managed to survive End Times with their acoustic guitar in perfect condition.
