Live favorite "Brothersport" has been identified as the closing track on Merriweather Post Pavilion, the Animal Collective full-length due in January. This is one of those albums where people want to hear it so badly that they attend label-sponsored listening parties and write articles about the experience. As 2008 draws to a close and we try to assess the year that was, we start thinking about 2009 and what might be good, and this is an album that comes to mind immediately. Which means, of course, the prevailing question for so many online is, "When will it leak?" The Fader blog is pointing to an mp3 of "Brothersport" hosted on zShare, which-- to get forensic for a second here-- appears to be edited from the French podcast Les Inrocks Podcast, which Fader learned about from Gorilla vs. Bear. Sounds pretty brilliant right off the bat. "Another favorite," according to Pitchfork's Jessica Suarez, and I'm inclined to agree. (via Fader)
