Tom Waits has been holed up in an old school house in Mississippi, recording his new album, Real Gone for ANTI- records. It will be comprised of new tunes by Waits and Kathleen Brennan and will be ready for release this fall.
Real Gone features Waits on vocal mouth percussion and turntables, Larry Taylor (a veteran of Waits recordings since 1980's Heartattack & Vine) on bass and guitar, Mark Ribot (in his first collaboration with Waits since 1985's Raindogs) on guitar and tres, Brain Manita (Primus, Buckethead and the most recent Guns N’ Roses tour) on drums, Les Claypool (Primus) on bass and Harry Cody on guitar and banjo. The album is being engineered by Mark Howard (Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams, Iggy Pop) and produced by Waits and Brennan.
