Diabetes Association Benefit Concert pays tribute to Luther Vandross

In honor of Singer Luther Vandross, who is currently recovering from a diabetes-induced stroke he suffered last year, a benefit concert will be held for The American Diabetes Association next month in New York.

The sponsors and producers of the program—which will be held Oct. 27 at the historical Theater at Madison Square Garden—are donating profits from ticket sales to the organization on Vandross’ behalf.

The concert will reunite musicians who worked on a recent Vandross tribute album, including singers Lalah Hathaway and Ledisi, saxophonists Kirk Whalum, Dave Koz, Richard Elliot and Mindi Abair, guitarist Paul Jackson Jr., and keyboardist Brian Culbertson. Singing sensation Patti LaBelle and artists Will Downing and Gerald Albright will also be among an array of friends and special guests lovingly saluting Mr. Vandross, while raising money awareness for diabetes.

Please join Mr. Vandross and The Verve Music Group in sending a contribution to:

The American Diabetes Association Forever, For Always, For Luther Fund 1701 North Beauregard Alexandria, VA 22311

All donations are tax deductible. For more information call 1-800-DIABETES or visit www.diabetes.org.
