Luna to Disband After World Tour

After more than a decade together, and right on the eve of the release of its latest album Rendezvous, Luna has announced it will disband after a farewell world tour.

Formed in 1992, Luna has produced seven albums featuring such legendary guests as Sterling Morrision of the Velvet Underground and Tom Verlaine of Television. In addition to its studio albums, Luna has contributed to numerous film scores, including I Shot Andy Warhol, Irma Vep, Mr. Jealousy, The Myth of Fingerprints and, most recently, Sideways, the new film by Alexander Payne.

The band's final tour will include dates in Japan in October, the States in November and January and Europe in February 2005. Rendezvous, produced by Bryce Goggin (Pavement, Phish) in Brooklyn, N.Y., will be released by Jetset Records Oct. 26.
