Melissa Etheridge Diagnosed With Breast Cancer

Singer/songwriter Melissa Etheridge announced that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. As a result of early detection and progressive treatment her doctor is expecting a speedy and complete recovery. Upon her doctor’s advice Melissa will undergo surgery and the prognosis looks excellent. However, due to these unfortunate circumstances her upcoming tour dates have been cancelled.

“I am fortunate to be under a wonderful doctor’s care and thankful that this was caught early,” Etheridge said in a statement released on her website. “I am looking forward to a quick and full recovery.”

Melissa will be recuperating at home in Los Angeles with her wife and children.

Refunds for tickets to her upcoming shows will be available at point of purchase.
