New Order to Release First Studio Album since 2001

New Order will return with new album Waiting For The Sirens' Call—its first studio effort since 2001's Get Ready—whcih will be released April 26, 2005.

The album was recorded over seven months, using several producers, including Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths), John Leckie (Pink Floyd, Stone Roses), Stuart Price (Madonna) and the members of New Order themsleves. A burst of songwriting by the band resulted in 18 completed songs, a first for New Order.

"We usually do just enough for an album," says vocalist Bernard Sumner. "Ten songs and it's done. [But] the seven tracks left off Sirens are so strong that they are likely to form the basis of a future LP."
