The dB's Record for First Time in Two Decades

The original lineup of The dB's (Peter Holsapple, Chris Stamey, Will Rigby, and Gene Holder) recorded new tracks at Water Music Recorders in Hoboken, N.J. in January. Engineered by George Cowan, (Iggy Pop, Natalie Merchant, The Band) this was the band’s first session in 25 years.

Resulting from the January sessions are 7 new originals by Holsapple and Stamey and a cover of the Motown classic “What Becomes of the Brokenhearted” upon reflection of the tsunami catastrophe. The sessions were so productive that the band has decided to finish the album…after they find a label to call home, of course. The album is expected to be released sometime in 2006 and plans for live shows abound.
