Lord of the Brush chronicles the life of artist John Howe's, from attending art college in Strassbourg, to designing the first Tolkien calendars for HarperCollins and his collaboration on the Academy Award-winning Lord of the Rings. Howe, along with Allen Lee, was a conceptual designer for Peter Jackson's entire Rings Trilogy.
Howe’s story is brought to life with the help of more than 100 of his illustrations and music from the Suite for Richard, excerpted from Howard Shore's original motion-picture score, performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
Lord of the Brush is scheduled to air on Bravo June 19, 8 p.m. EST. For more information on the documentary visit www.lordofthebrush.com
