Tarantino to host Austin film fest

The Austin Film Society has announced that Quentin Tarantino will return to Austin host “QT 6,” a nine-day film festival of movies hand-selected by the director, beginning Sep. 9. More than 20 films will be screened as part of the event, to be held at Alamo Drafthouse downtown.

The festival will be the sixth such event Tarantino has hosted since 1996, and has featured theme nights like “Cheerleader Movies,” “Spaghetti Westerns” and “Sci-Fi Horror Marathon.”

Passes and badges go on sale Aug. 12, with nine-day badges available only to AFS members for $145. Single-day passes for members are $20 for Sunday-Thursday, $30 for Friday and Saturday. Non-members may purchase a limited number of passes through Alamo Drafthouse on the night of the screening. For more information, visit the Austin Film Society.
