Wilco will perform on Nov. 1 at Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre to benefit two New Orleans relief funds.
The first, the New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund is dedicated to aiding musicians from the area in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The concert's other beneficiary is The Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans, which helps victims of the hurricane rebuild their homes and businesses while preserving the city's original architecture.
“We need to work to protect two of [New Orleans's] most valuable assets: its architecture and its musicians," said New Orleans native and Wilco bassist John Stirrat. "In helping the Preservation Resource Center and the New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund we'll do what we can to help keep the city's personality intact through its rebuilding process."
