According to Billboard.com, Stereogum.com and other online sources, Depeche Mode and Tool will headline this year’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. Tool performed at the first Coachella in 1999 but has not played live in the U.S. since 2002.
Other acts include Franz Ferdinand, My Morning Jacket, Bloc Party, Paul Oakenfold, TV On The Radio, Sigur Ros, Scissor Sisters, Cat Power, Damian Marley and Tricky.
Indie favorites include Nine Black Alps, Hard-Fi, Editors, The Zutons, Art Brut, The Magic Numbers, The Subways, The Walkmen, The Dears, Carl Cox, Wolf Parade, Metric, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Phoenix, Dungen, Animal Collective, Coheed & Cambria, Mylo, Jamie Lidell, the Go! Team, Tosca and Coldcut.
Quite a few notable hip-hop artists will also be performing, including Common, reggae-rapper Matisyahu, Lyrics Born, Atmosphere, Lady Sovereign, Digable Planets and Gnarls Barkley (a collaboration between Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse).
Additional acts will continue to be scheduled. Tickets go on sale Saturday.
