New Order Featured On Joy Division Film

New Order will be recording new tracks for music-video director Anton Corbijn’s Control, a fact-based film on U.K. post-punk band Joy Division. The soundtrack album will feature several re-recorded Joy Division songs.

Sam Riley has been cast as lead singer Ian Curtis and Alexandra Maria Lara as his lover Annik. Samantha Morton will play Deborah Curtis, who wrote the book on which Matt Greenhalgh’s script is based.

The film’s title was inspired by the Joy Division song “She’s Lost Control.”
