Red Hot Chili Peppers Secure No. 1 Album Spot

It's been a long time coming. After 21 years, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have taken the top spot on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart for the first time with their new release, Stadium Arcadium.

Debuting at No. 1, this breakthrough gives the Chili Peppers not only their first No. 1 album debut, but their first No. 1 album in the U.S., ever.

The two-disc Stadium Arcadium, released May 9, also debuted at No. 1 in 16 other countries.

Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival Aug. 4-6, then begin the North American leg of their world tour Aug. 11.
