Arlo Guthrie And Family Embark On Year-Long Tour

Arlo Guthrie has rounded up multiple generations of the Guthries and set out across North America on The Guthrie Family Legacy Tour, honoring the music of patriarch Woody Guthrie and the musical legacy his family continues to carry. The tour, consisting of four Guthrie generations, will run almost a year, from this month until May 2007. The core band that will be touring includes Arlo Guthrie, his son Abe Guthrie, and Arlo's third daughter Sarah Lee Guthrie along with her husband and music partner Johnny Irion. Various Guthrie children and grandchildren will join the others throughout the tour, which is set to include original Woody tunes and new songs from members of the family still actively recording music. Cathi Guthrie (Arlo's first daughter), Amy Nelson (Arlo's sister), and Annie Guthrie (Arlo's second daughter), plan to drop in on the tour as well. Carrying on the tradition of their father and grandfather, all of Arlo's children have been involved with the music industry in various capacities, and this is the first time they will tour together to honor that very legacy.
