The Damnwells have come a long way since their first album, Bastards of the Beat — specifically, from recording music in a mini-storage unit in Manhattan to using an actual studio. Their latest release, Air Stereo, hits stores Aug. 15 and marks the band’s jump from Epic to Zöe/Rounder Records.
Air Stereo borrows from The Damnwells’ poppy, alt-country sound while incorporating the new additions of piano, horns, strings and several guest artists, including Ollabelle’s Amy Helm and Fiona McBain.
The Damnwells, along with new member J Barklay on keyboard, are now on tour with The Fray, and will co-headline with the Sam Roberts Band this summer. For tour dates and a track listing for Air Stereo, click here.
