Charlotte Mayor Declares Avett Brothers Day

Charlotte, N.C., mayor Patrick McCrory declared Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006 "The Avett Brothers Day." Seth & Scott Avett were recognized by Mayor McCrory as artists who "provoke thought, change perceptions and bring something new to the world through their music in their albums, tours and regional shows."

The brothers' new EP The Gleam will be in stores nationwide Sep. 19.
