Elvis Costello and Allen Toussaint's work together on last June’s "The River In Reverse," all but elevated the New Orleans natives as the musical voice of the devastating catastrophe that was Hurricane Katrina. The new DVD "Hot as a Pistol, Keen as a Blade" captures the pair's performance in Montreal, Canada with eight tracks from “The River In Reverse” including "The River In Reverse," "Who's Gonna Help Brother Get Further?," and "Broken Promise Land.”
The DVD also includes songs from Costello’s seasoned pop catalogue, in-studio footage, interviews with both musicians and a tour journal from Costello. For more information check September’s Paste Issue 24 for our feature on Costello and Toussaint as well as the state of music in post-Katrina New Orleans.
"Hot as a Pistol, Keen as a Blade" has a release date of December 5, 2006.
