Initial Coachella 2007 Lineup Announced

What’s that strange noise, you ask? Fear not, it’s just members of the indie music blogosphere joining their voices in a collective squeal over the official release Coachella 2007 festival lineup.

Expanded to three days in this, its eighth year, the festival will be held yet again at Indio, Calif.’s Empire Polo Club from Friday, April 27th to Sunday, April 29th. With more artists being confirmed over the next few weeks, it remains to be seen whether festival planners have opted to cram more into the three-day festival, or space out the performances to avoid that pesky festival overlap.

One thing—or, well, three things—are for certain: the headliners. Bjork, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and a reunited Rage Against the Machine have been announced in the top slots.

Coachella 3-day passes ($249 each) and a limited number of 1-day-only tickets ($85 each) go on sale Satuday, January 27th at 10:00 AM (Pacific Time) via Ticketmaster.com,Ticketmaster’s charge-by-phone line (213-480-3232), and all Ticketmaster locations. Camping passes ($45 for four nights) will also be available for festivalgoers 18 years and older.
