Madeleine Peyroux Tours US In February, March

After selling out nearly every show on her fall 2006 tour, Madeleine Peyroux will hit the road again this winter, dazzling even more audiences with her subtle, sultry style. She’ll continue playing in support of Half the Perfect World, her third solo album, which has remained in the top 5 of Billboard’s Top Jazz Album charts since its September 2006 release.

Although her voice has garnered comparisons to Billie Holliday, Peyroux has also been praised for her original style, which melds original tunes with classics like Joni Mitchell’s “River” and Serge Gainsbourg’s “La Javanaise,” which both appear on Perfect World.

Last fall, Paste wrote about Peyroux’s decision to donate one dollar from every ticket sold on her most recent tour. No word on whether she’ll be continuing that altruism on her upcoming jaunt.
