Tom Waits settles in lawsuit against GM

Tom Waits has finally settled his lawsuit against General Motors after their German ad agency McCann Erickson allegedly hired a soundalike to imitate his gravelly voice for a series of car commercials aired throughout Scandinavia in 2005.

The Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter is reportedly donating the proceeds from his settlement to charity. Said Waits, “I’m glad to be out of the car sales business once and for all.”
