Its website claims the band name means “playful sex” in colloquial Japanese. I don’t know Japanese, but I can’t find any contradictory information, so I’ll take Asobi Seksu at its word, because it’s a cool name.
In any event, the New York band is extending the tour behind its second record, Citrus, released in May of last year, through late March. Tracks from both of the bands albums have been promised, as well as some “new tricks” as they tour most dates with the Ataris.
If you want a preview of the band’s live show, Live at the Echo, recorded in Los Angeles last October, can be purchased here.
