Madlib Presents Audio Guide to Los Angeles

Madlib Presents Audio Guide to Los Angeles

Visiting L.A. soon? Don’t want to seem like a tourist dragging around some bulky travel guide? No need to fear! Just bring a CD player.

Madlib – The Other Side of Los Angeles is the fifth installment of a series by Time Out magazine and Deaf Dumb & Blind Recordings presenting audio “tours” of major world cities. This album, compiled by rapper/producer Madlib, gathers 17 artists to reveal lesser known L.A. attractions often ignored by other guides. The compilation doesn’t claim to be an all-encompassing guide to the city, but attempts to expose the “the very best and coolest in sight and sounds.”

The CD, out May 8, also includes a DVD by Stones Throw Record’s founder Peanut Butter Wolf presenting a visual handbook to the city.

Each edition of the “Other Side” series presents the same CD/DVD combination and thus far has explored London, New York and Paris, all with different artists presiding over the compilations.
