Ever want to know what inspired Randy Newman to write “Short People?”
If you’re like me and said yes to the above question, then head out to Los Angeles in April for the “I Create Music” Expo, presented by ASCAP.
Newman will field questions about songwriting and composing from music journalist Paul Zollo on the first day of the conference, which runs April 19 through April 21.
Other panelists include Rhett Miller of the Old 97’s , Seth MacFarlane , Bill Withers and Glen Ballard.
ASCAP is the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, a performing rights organization representing composers, lyricists and music publishers. This is the second “I Create Music” Expo; the first was held last year.
