Ryan Shaw Tours With Robert Randolph

After accompanying Robert Randolph on tour last fall, up-and-coming soul crooner Ryan Shaw will once again join the blues/funk rocker for a brief jaunt along the west coast this March.

Born and raised in a devoutly Pentecostal family in Decatur, Georgia, Shaw grew up singing gospel tunes and wasn’t exposed to secular pop music until his career as a stage actor drew him to New York City. There, his stints performing with a number of vocal ensembles familiarized him with the classic soul, doo-wop, and pop music of the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. Shaw’s style combines those two lines of influence, making for a sound that has attracted attention from industry types and music fans alike.

Shaw’s debut LP, This Is Ryan Shaw, will be released on April 17th, 2007, by One Haven/RED records. He'll also be featured as one of Paste's "Four to Watch" in issue #30, on newsstands in April.

His dates with Robert Randolph include:

March:
3 -- Fox Theatre, Boulder, Colo.
4 -- Fox Theatre, Boulder, Colo.
7 – Showbox, Seattle, Wash.
8 -- Crystal Ballroom, Portland, Ore.
9 – Warfield, San Francisco, Calif.
10 -- House Of Blues, San Diego, Calif.
