Snoe.down Winter Music Festival, the on-ice version of moe.down, has added more artists, late night shows and winter games to the jam-packed schedule. The festival is set for March 23rd to the 25th in Lake Placid, N.Y. in the Adirondack Mountains.
Festival host moe. will perform at the Rink Herb Brooks Arena on both Friday and Saturday night with guest performers. The rest of the weekend, Lake Placid will be transformed into a wonderland of icy, gritty funk/jam sessions and not-so-athletic winter games.
Shows are scheduled throughout the weekend in the afternoons, evenings and late nights in all of the old venues of the 1980 Winter Olympics. The lineup includes: The Disco Biscuits, Little Feat, Brazilian Girls, The Slip, Tea Leaf Green, Vorcza, Moonboot Lover's Peter Prince, Sam Kininger Band, and Gordon Stone Band. Late night shows will feature Brothers Past, The Brew, Lucy Vincent, Kate Gaffne and Gratefully Deadicated Sound System. The new additions to the line-up are: The Casual Fiasco, Sonicbids David Cain & the Neighborhood Band and Hot Day at the Zoo.
The first annual Snoe.down Winter Games will be open to the first 150 registrants with eight dollars. Games include tubing, snow luge, curling, luge paddle, hockey shot and fastest shot recorded by a radar gun. Other non-competitive activities at the festival include ice skating, bobsled and luge rocket rides, speed skating, gondola, toboggan rides, dog sled rides, ice climbing, winter mountaineering, tubing on Saranac Lake, visiting the Olympic ski jump towers and touring the 1932 & 1980 Winter Olympic Museum.
