Adam Duritz' Record Label to Release First Record

While many multi-million dollar rock stars are out schmoozing with beautiful women and contracting expensive drug habits, Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz is home on the computer.

At least that’s how it would seem; the dreadlocked "Mr. Jones" singer claims he signed the first two acts to his new records label, Tyrannasaurus Records, after discovering them on MySpace.com. The label will release the debut album by signee Blacktop Mourning on May 15. The Chicago “Rock/Pop Punk” outfit’s record, No Regret, was co-produced by Max Steger and The Devil and Bunny Show (which consists of Duritz and fellow Counting Crow-ian David “Immy” Immerglück).

Other artists on the new label’s roster include Notar, a rapper who’s also a classically trained trumpeter, and The Himalayans, a pre-Counting Crows band fronted by Duritz. The label’s initial release will be the first official release of Himalayans tracks, She Likes Weather, on April 12.
