Autumn Defense Announces New Record and Tour

March 9, 2007  |  12:00am

Three years after its sophomore release, The Autumn Defense has completed a new self-titled album.

Pat Sansone and John Stirratt, both of Wilco, have kept The Autumn Defense as a running side project for six years. The group has been on tour since late February and will continue a full set of dates along the East Coast through March.

The Autumn Defense has been described as everything from Philly-soul baroque to bossa-nova to classic Southern California. The new work features Autumn Defense regulars—drummer Greg Wieczorek, pedal steel player John Pirruccello and Steve Tyska on horns.
