BNL Commemorate eMusic's 100-Millionth Download

When Moorestown, N.J., native and aspiring visual artist Michael Brennan downloaded “Diamond Ring” from bluesman Mississippi Fred McDowell in December, he had no idea he’d just made history.

Unbeknownst to everyone but the head honchos at eMusic, the world’s largest retailer of independent music and second-largest digital music retailer after iTunes, Brennan had downloaded the site’s 100-millionth song.

As thanks for the milestone purchase, eMusic then enlisted multi-platinum rockers Barenaked Ladies to memorialize Brennan in the only way they know how: with his very own song.

Beginning today, the surprisingly catchy “Michael Brennan” will be available for download on eMusic as an exclusive free track for a month, after which the track will be bundled with the Canadian band’s recently released LP Barenaked Ladies Are Men.
