Broadway Books To Publish Iggy Pop Biography

Hot on the heels of The Stooges’ latest LP The Weirdness, released Tuesday, Random House imprint Broadway Books will publish what promises to be the definitive biography of the “Godfather of Punk.”

Complete with more than 70 photos, Iggy Pop: Open Up and Bleed is the third nonfiction book by Paul Trynka, former editor of Mojo Magazine. The biography will hit shelves everywhere April 10 in anticipation of Iggy’s 60th birthday on April 21.

Perhaps the only thing more remarkable than The Stooges still cranking out records is the fact that Iggy lived to be 60. If ever there were an excuse to celebrate the miracle of life, this is it.
