Fishbone Still Exists

Fishbone Still Exists

“Let Dem Ho’s Fight”

“Skank N Go Nuttz”

“Faceplant Scorpian Backpinch”

That’s right. Fishbone is back.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, don’t judge a song by it’s title; but we have reason to believe that, judging by the three aforementioned samples, Fishbone is up to it’s same old tricks for its new album. It’s the result of funk, punk, ska, reggae, whatever else can fit, being thrown into the pot—for better or worse.

With the first album of new material in six years, the nearly-three-decade-old Los Angeles band will release Still Stuck in Your Throat on April 24. The bulk of the band’s tour will begin around the same time.

As of late, the band has been keeping busy with other folks’ projects, becoming the house band for Outkast’s movie, Idlewild, as well as Christina Aguilera’s band in her “Ain’t No Other Man" video. Fishbone’s cover of “Date Rape,” recorded for the recently released Look At All the Love We’ve Found: A Tribute to Sublime, will also appear on the new album.
