Iris Nova, the new album from Brooklyn's electro-soul darlings, Mudville, brings together a list of heavy talent—R.E.M.'s Mike Mills plus tabla player/producer Karsh Kale, Jim Campilongo (The Little Willies), Ethel (string quartet), Lounge Lizards jazz saxophonist Michael Blake and pedal steel guitar legend Buddy Cage.
Mills, Blake, pianist Dred Scott and other guest performers will join the group on March 31st at the Blue Note in New York for a late night show/CD release.
Iris Nova will only be sold in actual CD format at Mudville’s live shows, beginning at Blue Note. Otherwise, the album will only be available through the group’s MySpace page, iTunes and eMusic. Previews of the new tracks are already available on MySpace.
Five percent of the proceeds from the Blue Note show will be donated to StopGlobalWarming.org.
