Wayne Coyne, vocalist/songwriter/alien-worshipper extraordinaire for The Flaming Lips, will make a guest appearance tonight on Jay Leno, but not in the typical capacity filled by an able-bodied musician. Instead, Coyne will serve as a special guest correspondent from last week’s SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Coyne and crew conducted a host of impromptu interviews and observations, all compiled into a mini-documentary that, in true Wayne Coyne fashion, is guaranteed to be a mind trip.
As if you needed another reason to tune in, Will Ferrell will also guest on tonight’s show. And if tonight doesn’t satisfy your need for all things Coyne, you can catch the Lips on a short East Coast tour this April, as well as at Bonnaroo and D-Fest this summer.
