Two years after The Magic Numbers' stellar debut earned them a spot on Paste's coveted 4 To Watch roster, the London foursome is at it again, this time with another album, a new label and a string arranger to boot.
The Numbers' sophomore LP, titled Those The Brokes, will hit streets stateside on July 3 thanks to Astralwerks.
The album was recorded at Allaire Studios in Woodstock, N.Y., and boasts the band's first use of strings. A nine-piece orchestra conducted by Robert Kirby of Nick Drake fame provides a sweeping background for a number of the record's 11 tracks, most notably the waltzing "Boy."
No word yet on any U.S. tour dates, but stay tuned as those become available.
