Suzanne Vega Pays Tribute To NYC On 7th Album

Blue Note Records has announced the details of Suzanne Vega’s new LP, Beauty & Crime, set to be released internationally on June 5th and in the US on July 17th, 2007.

On this, the seventh album of her 20+ year career but her first with Blue Note, Vega pays homage to her hometown of New York City, where she grew up and currently resides. Among the eleven tracks are obvious tributes “Ludlow Street” and “New York Is A Woman” as well as “Bound” (written for Vega’s husband) and “As You Are Now” (written for her daughter).

Produced by Jimmy Hogarth (who has recently lent his ear to such artists as KT Tunstall, Sia, and Corinne Bailey Rae), the album was recorded in New York and London.
