Unreleased Nick Drake Recordings Surface

Singer-songwriter Nick Drake's tragically short career may have ended more than 30 years ago, but that isn't stopping the Englishman's estate manager from compiling an album of Drake's earliest known recordings.

Slated for a June 19 release on Tsunami LG/Fontana, Family Tree features 26 songs made on a reel-to-reel tape recorder before his official debut, Five Leaves Left had even surfaced. The LP also includes two tracks, "Poor Mum" and "Try To Remember," recorded by Drake's mother Molly that highlight the musical influence she had on her gifted son.

Also look for an upgraded version of The Fruit Tree Box Set, which contains Nick's three original studio albums, later in 2007.
