Orenda Fink's new band's debut album out soon

Please do not obey the title of Art in Manila’s debut LP. We know you kids are eager to wrap your silky-smoothe neocortexes in a veritable quilt of ideas sewn together from bits and pieces of Maury Povich, dirty old magazines and indie rock music. But do not - and we are being stern here – set the woods on fire. Have you seen Florida and Georgia lately? We have, and we think forest fires suck.

But fortunately a bear wearing denim pants does not work for Paste, and therefore we’re not gonna get that sensitive about Orenda Fink of Azure Ray’s title choices. Her new band’s release Set the Woods on Fire will be out August 28 on Saddle Creek Records. Formerly known as Art Bell, Art in Manila is basically comprised of people Fink performed with on her 2005 solo tour, including Adrianne Verhoeven of the Anniversary and Ryan Fox of the Good Life. It was recorded in Omaha by Joel Petersen (the Faint) and mixed by Now it’s Overhead’s Andy LeMaster in Athens. Georgia. You know, where Azure Ray originally came from? Where everything in the southeast region sucks because the woods are on fire?
