Tune up the banjos and fiddles, Nashville, because the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) World of Bluegrass festival will be in town October 1-7. The weeklong event will include the industry’s annual Business Conference, the International Bluegrass Music Awards, and the Bluegrass Fan Fest.
The Fan Fest will feature three days of concerts at the Nashville Convention Center. Over 60 acts will be performing at the event, including The Grascals, Cherryholmes, Emmylou Harris, Larry Sparks, plus many more. The performances will be held on four different stages: the Main Stage, the Roots and Branches Stage, the Masters Workshop Stage, and the Grand Master Fiddler Championship.
On October 4, the Grand Ole Opry House will host the International Bluegrass Music Awards, honoring a year of achievements in the bluegrass world.
All the artists appearing and performing during the festival will be donating their time (and talents), and all ticket sales for the World of Bluegrass will go to support the Bluegrass Trust Fund, which aides bluegrass musicians in need, as well as the IBMA’s other events during the year.
