Kanye West schedules Chicago benefit

In case you haven’t heard, Kanye West is graduating on August 21. On August 24, he’ll perform a hometown benefit at the House of Blues in Chicago for those still in school. The show will preview his Glow in the Dark tour, and will feature still unnamed special guests.

According to Pitchfork, most of the show’s proceeds will go to the Loop Dreams Teacher Training Institute in Chicago. Scheduled to open next spring, the institute will train teachers interested in using hip-hop to engage students.

Additionally, West will invite 200 kids to a pre-show soundcheck bash, so they can see how he prepares for the show. Keep an eye on a Paste issue near you sometime in September for much more on Kanye West.
