Meshell Ndegeocello's seventh album out soon

| | Comments (0)

Neo-soul pioneer Meshell Ndegeocello’s seventh full-length, The World Has Made Me the Man of My Dreams, premiers Sept. 25 on Emarcy Records. Twenty years into a career that has garnered her nine Grammy nominations with no wins, Ndegeocello seems indifferent to award-show recognition. “I just make beats," she says on Meshell.com. "I play my bass, express myself, search and that's it. Whatever else does or doesn't come with that in terms of the way people respond, that's cool. Bottom line, it's got to be sincere and its got to be funky. The rest, I can't f- with."

Ndegeocello has a few shows this weekend in Brooklyn and Boulder, Col. Apparently, this can’t be said enough: No Flash Photography.

The dates:

July:
27 - Brooklyn, N.Y. @ The Rose
28 - Brooklyn, N.Y. @ The Rose

August:
4 - Boulder, Col. @ Boulder Theater
