If it’s summer, you can count on two things. First, it’s going to be too hot. Second, every single day from the Summer Solstice to the autumnal equinox, a new music festival will be announced.
Today’s entry into the ever-growing list of summer music festivals is Musicfest NW, the 1,203,087th festival of the summer. Sponsored by the local alternative rag The Willamette Week, MFNW will run from Sept. 6-9 and benefit The Oregon Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame & The Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp for Girls.
The fest has assembled quite a line-up this year, including Spoon, Clipse, Wolf Parade, Okkervil River, Patterson Hood, Grizzly Bear and a whole crapload of other bands. Girl Talk is also playing, but since the hotly-tipped mash-up artist is playing nearly every festival this summer, that shouldn't come as a surprise. MFNW will take place at a variety of venues in the Portland area. You can find the complete list of bands and venues below.
