Rachel Yamagata headlining Hotel Café Festival

The Hotel Café Festival in Highmount, N.Y. on Aug. 4 takes place in neither a hotel nor a café – discuss.

As a matter of fact, the event is situated in the rugged Catskills, almost 3,000 miles away from the L.A. venue (which is, in fact, a café) sponsoring it (Paste is a co-sponsor).

In a way, it makes sense. Beautiful mountain vistas should provide perfect ambiance for the singer-songwriter lineup, which includes Rachel Yamagata, Rocco Deluca & the Burden, Cary Brothers, Stars of Track and Field and Kate Havnevik, a recent Paste 4-to Watch.

Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit “Friends of Snuffy,” the most adorably-named animal-helping organization ever.
